When it opened in 1924 at a cost of 3$3 million, the original Gandy Bridge was USA's largest over-water span.
The timber in this handcrafted piece of furniture came from the recreational walkways called catwalks. They were added to the Gandy bridge in the early 1950's. This Heart Pine timber withstood the hot, cold, rough bay weather, natures traffic and the weight of thousands of visitors over the decades.
In 2015, As subcontractors to American Bridge Inc, Sully's LLC dismantled the 8000ft of walkways and began production of Bridgewood Furniture. The Timber is distinctive. I is well weathered, antique, solid and a part of Florida's history. You piece of furniture will endure for years in memory of Tampa's 'Old Gandy Bridge'.
